Position Summary
We are looking for a Pro-Active Team Player to join a small but busy team responsible for the general maintenance, service and repair of Rail Freight Wagons
The role will involve such procedures as spring and brake block changes, general repairs to door latches and pre use maintenance; therefore we are looking for someone who has a min of 12-18 months experience of hands on tools work experience
Person Profile/Experience:
This would suit an aspiring mechanic looking for an opportunity to break in to the Rail Engineering Industry, ex Forces Engineers, Plant Maintenance, Aerospace or Automotive/Fast Fit Centre Engineering skills will be suitable for this role
You will be physically fit and healthy, have a good sense of humour and be prepared to work outdoors where required. You will ideally have a full (clean) driving license and be flexible enough to travel to other local sites in the region from time to time
Due to the nature of the work/role, an appreciation of H&S at work is essential, plus in line with Rail Industry Protocols there is a zero policy re being under the influence of Drugs & Alcohol whilst at work
Qualifications:
NVQ Level 1 as a minimum in a Mechanical Fitting skill set
Experience supersedes all
