About the role:
You will work in conjunction with all areas of System optimisation to manage network maintenance/modeling and contingency planning of the clean water network. You will be involved in the development and implement a sustainable long-term strategy to improve all aspects of the water system within regulatory requirements. Other aspects to the role include working closely with the Asset Management and Water Networks including other internal stakeholders, taking the technical lead across various projects.
Day to day duties will include:
Support the Project Manager in leading network maintenance projects in liaison with various partners.
Update, via various mediums, all relevant teams and co-ordinate projects.
Cover all aspects of financials with regards to all types of maintenance using SAP.
Management of unplanned emergency events with a view to mitigating adverse effects to the customer.
Build justifications for new works streams for both approvals by Asset Management.
Work closely with all network and leakage teams to develop new scopes of work that can be delivered either by Water Supply.
Carry out Health and Safety audits (SHE6) on various partners to ensure that TW and partner staff are working to current HSE standards
Ensure all network maintenance projects follow current signed off Asset Management Procedures and ensure the completion of the handover documents are in place.
Assist with analysis of longterm network issues such as excessive headloss, low flows, area integrity, network resilience providing modeling reports for solutions.
Support Strategic, System and Leakage Optimisation Engineers formulating wider strategies for managing pressures, flows, reservoir levels and pumping regimes in conjunction with the water control centre and highlighting instances of non-compliance.
Evaluate and analyse operational information, understanding data integrity difficulties, to resolve basic problems.
Fulfill out of hours co-ordinator responsibilities.To be successful you will have the following skills and experience:
The successful candidate will be degree educated with industry experience, in-depth knowledge of hydraulic principles. It would be preferred if you had previous experience with Thames Water’s corporate systems: SAP, WAMI, Netbase, Pi, AORTA, Viewtool, NMT, ARC GIS, and z-one. You will have an in-depth understanding of the regulatory measures relating to customer satisfaction, customer low pressures and interruptions to supply, also prior experience concerning industry best practice in relation to valve operations, water quality, leakage management, and mains commissioning.
It is preferred that the candidate will have extensive experience concerning industry best practice in relation to valve operations, water quality, leakage management, mains commissioning, and CDM.
Strong communication skills are needed and confidence when negotiating with internal stakeholders in this post. It is essential that the candidate possesses good analytical, problem-solving, reasoning and negotiating skills.
