We have an opportunity available in the Reading area to work with young people leaving care to live independently. We offer a competitive salary, including opportunities for overtime and some enhanced payments. This is a full time position of 37.5 hours per week. There is a requirement to work flexibly as required and we operate an on-call rota for out of hours emergencies.

We are looking for caring, enthusiastic and committed support workers to join our team. Support workers will receive a full induction, support and ongoing training from the friendly Key2 team. We will invest in you and your future.

You will need to have a full UK driving licence and use of a car.

Support workers come from different backgrounds and often have experience and skills gained in a variety of roles and environments. If you think you have transferable skills and the drive to help young people fulfill their potential, then we would love to hear from you.

About you

Support workers must be non-judgmental, empathetic and understand the changing needs of young people leaving care and the challenges they face. You must be practical and flexible and able to respond to a variety of situations. This will require you to work in a trauma-informed way, demonstrating our ethos of patience, passion, persistence, partnership and diligence.

Support workers will need basic IT skills, excellent interpersonal skills and understand the importance of working within equal opportunities, safeguarding and confidentiality guidelines. You’ll be able to communicate on different levels both verbally and in writing, and have good life skills.
