Summary of role:

Due to exciting and substantial market growth we are expanding our portfolio of products while continually improving our existing range of products. As part of this strategy we are actively seeking to recruit an experienced and dynamic Supplier Quality Engineer to drive the quality function across the supply chain, both internally in a vertically-integrated organisation and with external Suppliers. This is an exciting opportunity for a Supplier Quality Engineer to work in a business that is enthusiastic and committed to continuously improving the quality of our products.

Working as a key member of the Quality team and closely with Product Management, Engineering Management and Manufacturing teams, the Supplier Quality Engineer will measure and manage part and process improvements via inspection, process capability studies, supplier and process audits. You will develop in-house and supplier capabilities to deliver world-class performance in a medium-volume manufacturing environment. You will have a passion for excellence and a strong desire to help drive change where needed in a business where Quality is the key to success.

Duties & Responsibilities of the role:

To ensure the continuous production and inspection of new components by taking ownership of Quality Concerns including non-conformity for internal and external suppliers.

Deliver Continuous Improvement by monitoring internal and external suppliers’ performance, documenting process changes as required to ensure that they meet and exceed company expectations.

Provide technical expertise to internal and external suppliers which help deliver process and part improvements, working through root cause-corrective actions as required.

Review existing policies and develop new plans to improve the existing quality system.

Work with inspectors to create inspection plans to monitor and maintain part quality, and with operators to establish new process controls where needed.

Ensure quality audit standards, internal and external, are met.


In-depth demonstrable knowledge and understanding of methodologies, tools and concepts of Quality Management.

Experience of sheet-metal and plastic moulding processes and parts, associated drawing interpretation including GD&T.

Experience of managing suppliers and delivering continuous improvements in a manufacturing environment.

Proven ability to generate and present data and information through Word, Excel and PowerPoint as well as verbally at all levels in an organization.

Familiar with the use of ERP systems (ideally EFACs) and part control therein.

Experience of component inspection methods and equipment.

Auditing experience (ideally with certification) with ISO9001.

Valid driving license and be prepared to travel, primarily within the UK, to visit suppliers.
