Senior Field Service Engineer – Solar

£38,000 to £42,000 DOE

Astute are exclusively partnered with a genuine market leader in their field. We’re looking for a Senior Field Service Engineer / Technical Service Engineer to join this leading brand and work remotely to assist their clients and their own operations and maintenance team with technical guidance on inverter issues.
Roles & Responsibilities
Reporting directly to the Service Manager, as the Senior Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for:
Maintaining commercial inverters in the commissioning phase and with contracted sites across the UK and Ireland on solar farms
Provide in depth technical support to existing clients and the company’s own field-based team with any issues on their inverters
Troubleshooting issues in order to understand in depth technical faults to then fix remotely, or guide the team through the fix
Developing an in depth understanding on all Utility and Commercial products to help and support the UK field service team and customer base
Answer incoming calls and process customer queries/error messages sent to the service line
Instant telephone support, resolving issues on single and three phase solar inverters
Supporting the sales team in a technical capacity where required
Be prepared to go and visit client sites if required. As a rough guide, 70:30 between home and field work
Other duties as required
Skills & Qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:
18th edition wiring regs is ideal
Electrical engineering qualifications
HV authorised is ideal
Good knowledge of high voltage, IP Networks and measurement equipment as well as occupational health and safety regulations
Previous solar maintenance experience, ideally on MW installations
Excellent computer literacy
German speaking would be advantageous but by no means essential
Salary & Package
