TEC Partners are working with a multi-national Biotech company who have expanded into the UK, and are establishing an exciting R&D Facility that will design, develop and produce electrochemical biosensors for disease detection.
Senior Electrochemist responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be responsible for assay development, validation and most importantly transfer to manufacturing
Design, develop and validate proprietary electrochemical assays
Create and conducting experiments
Processing and analysing results and data
Writing technical reports and specifications, and maintaining appropriate records
Plan, organise and execute experimental campaigns to establish and validate the biosensor development;
Design equipment and apparatus for conducting electrochemical experiments;
Develop, test and implement novel and established biosensing strategies;
Investigate electrochemical techniques;
Analyse and report findings to steer design and development activities;
Support planning of experimental and theoretical R&D activities to progress reactor design, including scheduling, costing and establishing decision criteria;
Support the development of robust instrumentation and control systems;
Support IP development and acquisition activities;
Pursue compliance with regulatory requirements, including working to establish suitable standards and codes;
Interface with a diverse set of partners and stakeholders from around the world;
Train and supervise new employees and interns from around the world;
Support the identification and alleviation of operational and project development risks.
Senior Electrochemist requirements:
Previous experience working in a diagnostics/medical devices environment
5+ years’ experience in designing and developing electrochemical biosensors / carbon screen printed electrodes in an industrial environment
5+ years’ work experience with proven track record in product development
5+ years’ work experience in mass manufacturing of screen printed electrodes
Proficient in preparing conjugation of proteins on gold nanoparticles
Experience of working to ISO13485
Bachelor’s degree in Biotechnology, Chemistry, Biochemistry or related field (PhD preferred)
Strong task-orientation with problem-solving skills that allow you to operate as an autonomous member of the team.
Good Communication Skills in English (written and verbal)
IT Literate
Excellent verbal, writing, communication and presentation skills.
Strong research, analytical and critical thinking skills.
