Our client is a leading provider of project and contract services for the onshore and offshore energy sectors. Due to recent projects won they require a QHSE Manager to work from their busy North East office.
The Role
To be the main focal point in relation to all Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality matters undertaken and to provide competent advice and wellbeing in compliance with all relevant legislation guidance and best practice.
Develop and write Quality Management Systems / Integrated Management Systems for corporate accreditations.
Conduct regular reviews and update existing procedural documentation to improve safety performance.
Liaise with external auditing bodies to maintain accreditation of the management systems.
Promote awareness of environmental aspects of managing projects, applying the principle that all incidents are preventable.
Establish and execute a schedule of internal quality audits.
Ensure that all HSE aspects are addressed at all stages of the design process, and that all disciplines fully understand the HSE requirements of the individual contracts.
Advise on all matters relating to HSE, provide direction, control, monitoring, supervision and co-ordination and provide comprehensive and practical advice to line managers on best practice.
Undertake Health and Safety investigations in connection with any relevant incidents or claims made against the company.
Responsible for professional development of all team members which will include regular formal performance reviews of individuals.
Lead initiatives aimed at maintaining a safe working environment to promote a positive Health and Safety culture.
Provide regular communication within the business on Health and Safety Performance.
The Person
Member of a relevant Professional Body i.e. NEBOSH / IOSH
Significant experience in multi discipline projects in the oil and gas sector with sound technical background and wide-ranging expertise.
Extensive experience and detailed knowledge of the Offshore Oil and Gas Industry.
In depth understanding of HSEQ issues in the Engineering Field.
Evidence of experience in a Senior Management Role.
Proven abilities in planning, progress, monitoring, forecasting and reporting.
Project Management Skills to enable the effective
Co-ordination of multi-disciplinary project teams.
Experience in Quality Control Requirements and Quality Assurance for Engineering work.
Competent in Design Safety and Environmental requirements, procedures and responsibilities for both self and subordinates.
High level of Awareness of commercial, contractual and Administrative Aspects of HSEQ Management.
Capable of generating a co-operative team- based culture for groups under their control.
