Project Leader – Business Operations
Would you like to work with a team on the project controls tasks for the submarine build? We currently have a vacancy for a Project Leader – Business Operations at our site in Filton or Broad Oak.
As a Project Leader – Business Operations, you will be taking direct ownership of the successful deployment and implementation of the Submarines Project Control System within the Astute Build Programme.
This role will provide you with an exciting opportunity to gain further exposure across the business and develop your skills.
Your main responsibilities as a Project Leader – Business Operations will involve:
Ensuring that the Earned Value Management information is timely, accurate and can be appropriately analysed to inform decision making
Developing and maintaining the high-level programme plan in a manner that can be implemented in a structured and coherent way into a suite of subordinate project plans
Ensuring best practice methods of tracking and reporting progress against a suite of defined milestones from programme through to project level and is applied correctly
Ensuring performance metrics are produced and are understood so as to allow performance to be reported and trends to be established thus allowing accurate forecasts to be made (Estimate At Complete)
Providing independent, specialist advice to senior managers to enable them to constructively challenge and monitor programme performance
Enabling and advising of timely management interventions if required
Identifying and implementing continuous business improvements
Acting as a Project Control System Reviewer
Producing Task Level Plans
Your skills and qualifications:
Essential:
Experience of working in a Project Control role within a complex organisation
Experience and understanding of Earned Value Management techniques
Good working knowledge of a corporate project planning toolset
Experience of Project Planning for small to medium tasks
Experience with Microsoft Project and SAP
Desirable:
Degree / Certificate in Project Management or professional qualification such as APM, IPMA, Prince2 or equivalent experience
Experience working within a full life cycle including end to end processes

Salary: £32,711+
