A Utilities Company who is the leading Distributor of Energy is building a Project Development Team for a rapidly growing Distributed Generation & Storage team who are looking for a Project Development Manager to drive late-stage project development to grow revenue and EBIT, focused on the Generation and Storage sector. The company brings energy services to the grid, DNOs and to industrial and commercial customers; chiefly focused on solar and battery storage.
You will be responsible for managing project development from concept to execution of contracts. You will adopt pipeline from our early stage development team, and drive projects through to financial close. You will bring commercial, project management and development skills in order to achieve this, working closely with stakeholders and coordinating colleagues from across the business. You will develop innovative technical solutions which are effectively procured, delivered and operated to meet our margin and client’s requirements:
– Leading development activity and driving progress for specific projects through to contract completion
– Overseeing planning, permitting, design and commercial workstreams, negotiating offtake contracts
– Taking projects through internal governance gates
– Coordinating with and ensuring delivery from supporting functions (engineering, commercial, delivery)
– Supporting the business development team with sales and with growing pipeline
Skills and Requirements
To be considered for this role you will have proven project development experience in the energy industry sector; ideally managing complex projects over time with multiple and external stakeholders.
You need to have a broad understanding of solutions and engineering systems for our target markets, be an expert in project management, local planning and permitting and have excellent relationship skills. Having managed similar projects in the past, you will have the skill to understand the benefit of bringing client drivers and market intelligence to all propositions in this sector. You will be able to manage a small project team and to develop processes across that team. You will need to have good knowledge of the energy and power markets, with knowledge of both distribution networks and power generation/storage solutions.
You will be entrepreneurial, commercial and flexible and bring a track-record of delivering results and developing strong relationships and developing sophisticated solutions that meet customers’ and stakeholders’ needs. Inquisitive and able to challenge convention; you’ll be adaptable with the ability to engage varied audiences.
