They have an exciting opportunity for a Programme Director, to join the engineering team based in the rapidly growing facility in Basingstoke.

Essential Skills and Experience:

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a proven track record of leading multiple projects to completion simultaneously; therefore you must be a competent decision maker, with a proactive and pragmatic approach.

You will have strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise, influence and negotiate at all levels. You will have excellent organisational skills, a strong execution focus and the ability to prioritise projects and deliverables. You will be flexible and adaptable in your approach, with strong project management skills.

Experience of working with electro-mechanical products in a regulated medical device industry, is essential. The successful candidate will also have demonstrable experience of working to engineering best practice with the ability to develop partnerships across functional areas.

Roles Responsibilities:

The Programme Director will be responsible for managing a wide range of programs, projects and other initiatives within the engineering group.

You will interact extensively with non-engineering teams and serve as the main communication and coordination resource between these teams ensuring consistency of best practice.  You will be responsible for enabling strong communication across the teams, driving cross-functional issues to closure, and helping to manage dependencies to ensure the overall program is successful in its key objectives.

You will, but not be limited to the following:

Set up and lead the PMO for Engineering projects across the organisation
Responsible for establishing and maintaining the Project Management Practice (PMP) in the organisation
Recruit, manage and mentor the PMO staff – Project and Program Manager and Project coordinator
Provide project planning, scheduling, tracking, and resource coordination for engineering programs.
Communicate within and between functional groups, including status meetings and reports.
Proactively raise risks and identify dependencies within and across groups.
Prioritize the activities of cross-functional project teams.
Create and monitor schedules and resources to meet project deliverables.
Ensure delivery of projects within scope, on time and within budget
Identify, mitigate and manage project risk.
Support, manage, and influence continuous improvement of product development process, practices, and initiatives.
Ensure development and standardisation of best practice approaches.
Identify, escalate, and ensure resolution of issues impacting successful execution of programs.
Respond to unforeseen demands and adapt to changing requirements or responsibilities.
Report to the CTO with a dotted line to the CEO
