Job Title: Production Planner/Scheduler

A leading manufacturer of commercial vehicle parts with a huge portfolio of products have recently injected significant investment in new production technology and equipment in order to scale up their UK production. They have continued to expand and thrive throughout the pandemic as well as ensuring they are Brexit compliant.
Due to their extensive growth plans, they are now seeking an experienced production Planner/Scheduler to work closely with all areas of the business to ensure that the production process runs smoothly .
The role
Your main priority will be to maximise effectiveness and throughput in all aspects of the production process, balancing capacity with incoming orders and propose solutions in order to meet the production build plan ensuring you have the resources available to achieve targets
Typical duties will involve:
Develop and implement daily and weekly production schedules and targets to meet the demands of the business for multi-tiered products including planned maintenance of equipment and routine calibration measurements.
Balance available labour and machine capacity to maximise efficiency whilst maintaining required quality standards.
Report to the management team regarding existing orders, production constraints, and production forecasting.
Develop and understand manpower, equipment and product specification and raw material’s usage in order to fully comprehend production capacity.
Collaborate any changes and priorities to production, Identify production, manpower and material shortage problems quickly in order of priority.
Ensure that materials and equipment are pre-arranged for production.
Coordinate with production, purchasing, and finance teams to develop and maintain scheduling parameters.
Generate daily and weekly production reports to managers for critical decision-making purposes.
Actively continuous improvement activity within the team
This is a specialised position, and ideally you will have considerable planning and scheduling experience within a production environment preferably with multi-tiered process requirements
You will be a self starter who takes ownership of the production schedule and proficient use of a recognised ERP system.
Able to collaborate and build relationships at all levels.
Strong organisational acumen, attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
Proficiency with standard scheduling software and productivity suites.
Strong analytical, leadership, and planning skills.
Ability to multi-task and work under pressure in a dynamic environment.
Good work ethic and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
