Production Manager (Maternity Cover) – Full Time –

About the role

Main Duties and Responsibilities

To manage the day to day running of the production department.
Advise manufacturers and fabric mills on production processes, deliveries and seasonal buying/production calendar.
Purchase Order Management – Creation, maintenance and authorization. Update Marketing, Retail and Merchandising departments of short shipments and delivery slides.
Monitor on time delivery from suppliers and vendors. Overseeing Production WIP Reports, negotiate, review and track key production dates.
Negotiate initial requirements and delivery dates with suppliers (quantities).
Place greige commitments with fabric mills for long lead time fabrics.
Analysing product data to forecast volume of materials required.
Excess Management (raw materials, trims & finished goods & 2nds).
To establish and meet the annual delivery targets as defined by the Key Performance Indicators.
To liaise with the Merchandising team with new season delivery matrix, new season requirements (quantities), phased buy (deliveries), size breakdowns, new season top up (rebuy) orders, current season stock movements, delayed production and any substantial shortages.
To manage the costs involved with shipping by liaising with Freight agents/suppliers to co-ordinate shipping of the product in the most effective way.
To work with the factories to achieve and improve the targeted gross margin by ensuring style work content is commercial, and fabric, trims and packing are bought efficiently.
Assist the Technical team with Costing Break Down analysis and cost saving suggestion to improve product margin.
Negotiate minimums and surcharges applicable.
Support on sourcing from current and/or new factories and constantly evaluating for best price, quality, lead-times and terms.
Alongside Technical team, manage supplier and vendor relationships to ensure the product is produced to the correct specifications, delivers the required margin and is delivered on time, in line with the strategic demands of the business.
To ensure new suppliers taken on board for the business meet and adhere with company’s Compliance criteria. Ensure that all practices are consistent with industry guidelines and regulations.
To liaise with the Marketing team regarding new season photo samples and manage the costs involved with the marketing samples.

7+ years of experience in the apparel industry
Knowledge of and garment manufacturing and production process;
Strong organizational skills with detailed attention to product information
Strong computer skills; excel, outlook, PLM
