DWP. Digital with Purpose.

This is an unmissable opportunity for an experienced Senior Product Manager to join our DWP Digital team.

DWP is the UK’s largest government department. In DWP Digital we’re creating innovative, user-centric digital solutions that will make a difference to millions of people’s lives.

It’s a generational transformation of products and service. It is complex, unique challenging and driven by an extraordinary purpose – lifting people out of poverty and helping people into work.

Right now we’re also responding to Covid-19. Accessible, robust digital services and reliable payments have never been more important to our users.

Working on Digital Payments Services

You’ll work initially with our Future Payments Programme where we re-imagine & modernise DWP’s Payments.

Payments are core to DWP. We are the biggest payer in the UK, serving 22m citizens which is 34% of the total UK population and make circa £177bn in payments annually generating 1/3 of the UK’s BACS traffic.

We protect all our payments and ensure that over 22m service users get paid the right money at the right time, and with minimal disruption, even during peak times.

Duties. Work. Projects.

As our Senior Product Manager you help define the services we build.

As an experience PM you’ll recognise key tasks like managing and influencing product strategy and technical fit, regular cadence releasing and making key user-led system changes.

If the job is familiar, the scale of what we’re doing here might not be. And the ask is often complex and the context unique. We’re working to achieve the best outcomes for our users and for DWP; we’re not driven by shareholders or a profit motive.

We work across a mixed economy of new, legacy and hybrid systems, so we’ll need you to be adaptable and able to develop and deliver a hybrid approach.

Day to day will work alongside other Product Managers and multidisciplinary teams, leading current and future payments activity.

You’ll also establish strong, supportive and influential relationships with other senior stakeholders across the DWP, as an ambassador for our community and for best practice in product management.
