Our local authority client based in South West London are urgently seeking an experienced Neighbourhood Officer.
To ensure that team and self demonstrate the values of the Council Borough as part of their day to day role; Putting Communities First, Respect, Integrity, Working Together.
To deliver tailored services that suit individual needs of residents, where there are vulnerabilities or special needs identified, to ensure that officers are working with relevant agencies to meet resident needs.
To prevent service delivery failure to our residents by dealing swiftly and effectively with performance management issues within the team. Where gaps are identified within the service, to address these by implementation of service improvement plans.
To frequently monitor work activity of the Neighbourhood Officers
/Neighbourhood Support Officer ensuring their work is meeting performance targets. This will include developing a suite of performance management templates specifically addressing all aspects of the day to day role of a Neighbourhood Officer or a Neighbourhood Support Officer.
To ensure all complaints and enquiries are investigated thoroughly and responded to within the timeframe set. To provide responses and reports to Members, MPs and senior management on high profile cases, initiatives and progress with performance. Responses to be of a high quality and reflect the core values of the council.
To encourage a culture of working together amongst various Council services and key external agencies, within the remit of information sharing protocols.
To embed safeguarding as a priority for Neighbourhood Teams and ensure that officers and self are managing safeguarding concerns appropriately and promptly, raising safeguarding alerts and working with relevant services.
To work closely with Resident Associations and Compacts especially when trying to resolve issues around anti-social behaviour, estate improvements and other initiatives that would increase resident satisfaction.
To ensure the team responds promptly and sensitively to all reports of nuisance, harassment, domestic abuse in line with legislation, policies and procedures. Where changes are needed to policies and procedures, to take the initiative to review the affected policy/procedure and seek authorisation from senior managers; where necessary ensuring policy amendments are agreed by the relevant Lead Member for the Council. To ensure that preventative and enforcement action is taken as appropriate and effective action plans are drawn up which include involvement from relevant services, Police, social services, other Council services and relevant voluntary agencies.
To provide joint up services that meet residents’ needs through close working relationships with Property Services, Income Teams, Environmental Services, Resident Engagement, Social Services, Police.
To ensure that HR policies are followed in relation to managing the team, including, managing absence, disciplinary and capability policies and promoting fairness and transparency across the team.
To provide performance reports and ensure that the team are focused on exceeding targets for all aspects of housing management; tenancy management, anti-social behaviour and tenancy support.
To respond to emergencies and draw upon the team’s resources to assist.
To represent Neighbourhood Management at stakeholder events, meetings as and when required.
Any other analogous duties.

Salary: £25.00 – £31.00/hour PAYE/Umbrella
