Male Support Worker Team Leader
An exciting opportunity has come up in a new vibrant residential service based in Weeley Heath, just on the outskirts of Clacton with great access to public transport. It is a unique service that has been co-produced to meet the needs of young people aged 18-25, with Autism and complex needs, embarking on their journey to independence. The service will be providing support to four individuals living together.
About the role/ service:
Rota’d weekends and nights
40hrs a week
Based in Weeley Heath
Great access to public transport
Young people aged 18-25, with Autism and complex needsRequirements of the role
Ability to communicate to range of people using different communication methods.
Male required due to the demographic of the service
DBS check will be carried out as part of recruitment
Ability to deal effectively in crises/emergencies.
2 years recent and significant experience of working with adults with Learning disabilities
Ability to develop and promote positive working relationships with individual’s being supported, their carers and professional colleagues.
Health & Social Care NVQ is desirable
Ability to work under pressure while recognising it in self and others.
Able to work flexibly, e.g. – working a weekend rota with other managers.The Male Support Worker Team Leader role involves:
Being a go to point for staff and raising issues with upper management if needed
Assisting senior management when required (eg. Staff performance feedback, rotas)
Ensuring policies set are being followed throughout the service
The post requires the holder to do varying shifts, which include early and late shifts. The post holder is required to work weekends as part of a rota and bank holidays when required.
To provide a needs led service to adults with a learning disability by adopting a person centered approach that fosters self awareness, personal growth and gives each person the strongest voice with regards to decision making and lifestyle choices.
Develop a positive working environment which nurtures and rewards good practice through a programme of training and development.
