Logistics Planning Supervisor

You will join us as a Logistics Planning Supervisor, to act as an integral member of the Mawdsleys Logistics team by providing a dedicated route planning service which adheres to all transport legislation, achieves the service levels set by the business to its clients and drives efficiencies and initiatives to control distribution costs. This will involve coordinating with end users to book in stock and agree delivery timings.

Responsibilities:

Lead and coordinate all customer orders being booked with end users in a timely manner.
Lead, support and develop the Planning team.
Plan all orders onto the available vehicles to the timeframes agreed with the end user.
Align all route planning to that of our Operator Licence undertakings, ensuring that all routes are planed within scope of the legislation.
Create routes to align with temperature requirements, allocating the relevant fleet.
Work with the Transport Managers to allocate resource to routes.
Liaise in unison with key stakeholder departments (Transport / operations) to create a seamless, stress free and value added ‘experience’ for all customers.
Attend conference calls and be part of the new customer on boarding process.
Work in conjunction with the ML SS Coordinator to resolve all customer based queries or complaints and create processes and procedures to prevent reoccurrence of issues.
Use the TMS provided software to its fullest potential always aligning fully with processes designed.
Always look to increase vehicle utilisation and productivity levels without service detriment.
Profile the correct levied charges on the TMS system to ensure client billing is accurate.
Communicate efficiently with key internal stakeholders cascading messages and instructions/explanations in a timely manner.
Receive feedback from drivers to improve route plans.
Be an integral part of the Mawdsleys Logistics team across the wider business building relationships and a teamwork ethos.
Be involved if relevant, in projects that are required to support the business strategy.
 
Requirements:

Excellent geographical knowledge of the UK road network.
Excellent IT literacy skills (Excel, Word and Outlook) with ability to learn new systems.
Polite and efficient telephone manner.
Proactive in resolving and de-escalating issues.
Act as a Company Ambassador by maintaining a customer focussed and professional approach to service delivery.
Understands and is passionate about the ‘customer’ and providing an excellent service.
Reacts appropriately while listening and understanding the views of others. Helps others see a different point of view.
Uses initiative and judgement effectively to make correct decisions.
Excellent problem solver.
Ability and confidence to make decisions under pressure.
PC Literate – Microsoft office competent.
Analytical and logical, with a good level of arithmetic.
