We are looking for an experienced General Manager to manage the smooth, efficient and accountable running of all the park through the effective motivation and management of all areas, ensuring excellent customer service. The successful candidate will have a solid background of managing a holiday park with multiple profit centres.
The sale of caravans following the company sales procedure at all times and be conversant with FCA regulations in the selling of Holiday Homes.
Marketing the park in consultation with the MD to attract new customers
The management, support and training of all staff at all levels, and of support staff within the department
Monitor and ensure the accurate recording of caravan purchase invoice terms and conditions and park agreements
Monitor and ensure ongoing effective communication with customers from introduction to after sales service
Monitor and ensure appropriate and effective communication with customers on private sale
To actively promote self-generated sales marketing for park and be conversant with data protection compliance.
To check Web site daily and reposed to any Trip Advisor comments or any other needs and updates as agreed.
Ensure effective liaison with suppliers regularly price checking with competitors
Carry out park walks and park audits regularly to ensure all areas are in excellent condition and safe and to generate job lists.
Investigate and report any operative or financial risks
Attend monthly meetings to discuss and / or develop board decisions / requirements and assist in implementing policy changes
Preparation of budgets in consultation with MD
Liaise with MD to monitor budgets, spending and co-ordinate all park winter programmes, reporting any variance to budget prior to expenditure
Ensure the preparation and service of all products to the highest standard
Ensure the recording of accidents or incidents and that the appropriate forms are complied with
Ensure each area complies with all legal requirements in particular Model Standards, spacing between caravans, storage of gas.
Ensure that all areas of the workplace and equipment within your scope of responsibility are at all times clean, fully operational and appropriately presented to the highest standard and all Risk Assessments are up to date and checked as part of the Park Audits.
Ensure that standard operating till, banking and accounting procedures are complied with
Comply promptly with HR and payroll procedures and be conversant with current employment legislation.
Recruitment of staff in accordance with budgetary and seasonal requirements
Undergo/deliver training as required
Deal with all customer enquiries or complaints quickly and efficiently
Always to behave in a polite and courteous manner to be an ambassador for the company
Personal appearance at all times to be in accordance with company standards
To have an understanding and awareness of all other parks in the company and what they offer
To be aware of and apply the provisions of the employee handbook
Understand and comply with health and safety requirements applicable to your role
Monitor and record attendance and punctuality
To ensure company objectives for the sale of caravan holiday homes are met, with appropriate margins and the desired mix of business
The generation of referral and part exchange business in line with company targets
To ensure the highest levels of service and communication with new and existing customers to maximise existing and potential business
To ensure accurate recording on sales invoices all specific agreements and terms agreed with customers
Ensure the smooth, efficient and accountable running of all areas to the highest standard
Ensure the Park marketing and web site is up to date and implement new ideas to further this.
Ensure all relevant statutory regulations and requirements are met
Ensure all departments monitor and control expenditure against budgets ensuring the effective management of resources
Ensure key holder availability in accordance with standard operating procedures
To ensure the appropriate training and development of staff
Identify opportunities to improve the standards of both service and presentation of the park
To ensure the highest possible standard of customer care
Observe and comply with standard operating procedures in all areas
Not to bring the company into disrepute
To be dressed and presented appropriately to your role at all times
To deal effectively with customer enquiries as to products and services
To act at all times in accordance with company procedures and standards
To carry out your duties in a manner that ensures the safest environment for colleagues and guests alike
To assist the HR and payroll departments by the provision of full, timely and accurate information and records
