Tata Chemicals Europe (TCE) is the UK’s sole producer of sodium carbonate and sodium bicarbonate, as well as the market leading producer of salt. We are also one of Europe’s leading producers of these and other related products.
There are exciting times ahead for us as we embark on major investment across all our manufacturing sites in Cheshire to grow the business and deliver reliable high quality products into increasingly diverse markets. This programme of investment and development at our Lostock site includes major infrastructure projects that will secure our position as a market leader in the production of Soda Ash.
We are seeking an experienced Engineering/ Asset Manager to lead plant reliability and performance at our Lostock Site. You will be highly skilled and experienced in devising maintenance strategies to achieve demonstrable improvements. You will have a track record of improving maintenance execution performance and effectiveness by working with maintenance teams to improve maintenance metrics and KPIs. Primary drivers are operational and capital project execution to transform plant reliability, budget planning and cost control, Overall Asset Strategy and Engineering Team Leadership.
The successful candidate will be a person who enjoys working with people, an ambassador for standards in maintenance and won’t be afraid to roll up their sleeves and be visible out on plant supporting their teams while able to perform as a senior member of the site management team with aspirations for future leadership opportunities.
To be successful it will often require you to sell your ideas and change ingrained approaches, so your communication skills will be exceptional, as well as the ability to solve problems. You will need to be outgoing, confident and engaging people leader who can gain respect quickly.

You will have lead multi discipline engineering and maintenance teams and be familiar with implementing modern maintenance planning and execution and have a sharp eye on budget and cost control whilst balancing integrity risk in an ageing asset environment.
You will be experienced in managing capital programmes and overhaul activities to deliver in full, on time and to budget.
We are ideally looking for someone who has worked in a large scale commodity manufacturing environment but equally you may come from a heavy engineering or manufacturing background.
You will be both strategic and delivery focused, so attention to detail, planning and organising are key attributes, as is a high degree of technical competence.
