Head of Business Development
Salary: £80,000 – £90,000 plus excellent benefits
Location: North West/Midlands

Our client is a successful, national Property Maintenance business who is looking to identify a Head of Business Development to lead a team of Business Development Managers. The successful candidate will be instrumental in creating new opportunities across all sectors, expand the company’s brand presence, manage existing partnerships and evaluate business goals.

The Head of Business Development will carry a team and individual target and be responsible for increasing company revenue with public sector and commercial clients as well as coaching, motivating and developing those in their team.

Responsibilities of this role include:

*Continuously building and developing a pipeline with new clients in the public and commercial sectors by pursuing business opportunities with strategic targets and cultivating relationships with existing clients
*Creating a business development plan that meets the objectives set in the business strategy. Owning and managing the opportunity pipeline, maintaining the company wide CRM system to ensure pipelines are accurate and managed
*Continually validating opportunities, ensuring leads are converted into opportunities
*Identifying and evaluating new markets and partnership opportunities through direct prospecting, networking, attendance and participation with various industry and professional groups and networking associations
*Increasing the bid conversion rate, ensuring validated opportunity is of a high win potential
*Identifying key routes to market including frameworks, and building and nurturing relationships with consultants, procurers and clients
*Managing the client journey and collaborating with digital marketing to communicate to target clients
*Reporting regularly on market intelligence and developments within target market sectors to enable quick business decisions
*Delivering compelling calls and presentations to introduce the business’s capabilities and value proposition. Setting up meetings with prospective clients to sell the company’s services
*Negotiating and communicating complex concepts/business issues to a variety of audiences
*Implementing sales incentives to drive sales performance
*Defining, testing, refining and implementing strategic plans to successfully secure sufficient bid opportunities to support revenue targets. These activities include primary research, industry, market and competitive analysis, and client needs assessment
*Providing expertise and direction for the day-to-day management of bid packages in the development pipeline. Providing client specific opportunity assessment, market evaluation, market research, financial evaluation, and other marketing needs required throughout the proposal preparation and delivery process
*Partnering with the marketing team to create effective marketing strategies to win in the marketplace, including market segmentation, value proposition development, technology positioning, pricing strategy, branding strategy, channel strategy and communications strategy development

The successful candidate will require the following:

*Previous experience in a Business Development leadership role
*Business Administration or similar degree level education is desirable
*A client centred approach with highly developed organisational, planning and time management skills and excellent written/oral communication
*Be commercially astute with up-to-date knowledge of the industry, sector and marketplace trends
*Experience of report writing, KPI monitoring and analytical skills
*Influencing and stakeholder management
*Be able to exhibit strong business acumen, skills and maturity and the ability to work effectively with others
*Flexibility to travel with a full UK driving licence
