Partnering exclusively with this luxury Retail and Wholesale brand based in Warwickshire Page are recruiting for a Group Payroll and Pensions Manager to lead the development and improvement of the organisations payroll function. Overseeing daily payroll activities and with a wider brief of system upgrades/implementations and improvements this would offer a highly rewarding yet challenging opportunity for a skilled and highly experienced Payroll Manager.

Client Details

My client who we have engaged with on an EXCLUSIVE basis to recruit this Group Payroll and Pensions Manager vacancy are a luxury Retail and Wholesale brand based in the South Warwickshire area. The business has a real family feel but is currently a £850m T/O business. The organisation is highly stable and can offer secure employment with real scope for driving improvement across the payroll function.


The Group Payroll and Pensions Manager role will involve:

Overall responsibility for the delivery of payroll services across the Group across 13 different Payroll
Review payroll requirements across the Group and replace the Sage payroll system with a cost effective, fit-for-purpose, modern Payroll system which meets all Group requirements
Produce/Process monthly payrolls for two Head Office Companies
Prepare P11D’s for all Head Office personnel
Take responsibility for all aspects of the Group Pension Scheme including: Regular administration and reporting tasks (in conjunction with Aon and L&G); Auto-enrolment and related reporting responsibilities ; Governance and other compliance activities
Take responsibility for the Group PSA Scheme including all admin and reporting requirements
Take responsibility for all aspects of the Group Life and Group Medical schemes.
Take responsibility for Group-wide policies on payroll related matters, document payroll policies and procedures (inc. process guides/notes) and keep up to date with legislative changes etc.
Implement and then produce Group-wide payroll reporting KPI’s (monthly) and be responsible for Group-wide reporting on pay and related matters (inc. Gender Pay)
Support branches with respect to all payroll related activities (inc. expert system knowledge) and support in respect of payroll related questions/issues
Implementation of a Group-wide salary sacrifice scheme for pensions
Seek opportunities to rationalise and introduce efficiencies to payroll processes to ensure cost-effective processes are in place throughout the Group
Develop and introduce staff benefit and reward systems where appropriate and costeffective
Seek to maximise the impact of existing benefits for the GroupProfile

To be successful in this role the ideal candidate will need prior experience in a similar Group focused role, strong Payroll/HR/pensions knowledge. Understanding of latest payroll legislation and initiative to keep up to date with changes. An analytical mindset and attention to detail.

Previous experience in process / payroll system improvements and ideally have worked to implement new systems / pension/benefit schemes previously. Strong IT (including Excel) and communication skills

Ideally CIPP/CIPD qualified although experience in the above areas is key.
