Breedon is a leading construction materials group in the UK and Ireland. We operate two cement plants and around 80 quarries, 40 asphalt plants, 170 ready-mixed concrete and mortar plants, nine concrete and clay products plants, four contract surfacing businesses, six import/export terminals and two slate production facilities.

Responsibilities:

We are currently looking for a Distribution and Customer Service Manager based at our Hope Cement Works. The role is responsible for managing the cement transport planning and customer service team. This team handles the needs of our customers from order placement through to delivery of cement and ancillary products by road and rail throughout the UK from our established network of distribution depots in a safe and efficient manner.

You will develop relationships with our transport supplier and customer base and ensure a high standard of customer service is maintained. You will proactively drive performance within the team and establish procedures which enhance collaborative working.

The key responsibilities of the role are as follows:

• Delivery of a high-performance service culture through the coaching and development of the distribution and customer service team
• Strong performance management of KPI’s focusing on managing operational costs, customer needs and service quality
• Close liaison with the external sales team and key customers to understand customer performance and behaviour to identify and influence opportunities to improve service offering and generate future growth
• Working collaboratively with all functions to ensure the delivery of business goals
• Ensuring optimal use of transport and depot infrastructure to ensure efficient and cost effective delivery of materials
• Proactively supporting the management and resolution of complaints
• Ensuring customer satisfaction

You should be an effective motivator, influencer and communicator with the ability to work with the team to identify opportunities to improve our effectiveness.

Experience within the construction materials industry would be advantageous.
