Key responsibilities

Ensure compliance in all areas of the site food safety and quality management system by carrying out audits of those systems against site standards.

Check that operational standards within the operational teams are adhered to through carrying out audits of the operational areas against QSHE auditing standards.

Confirm the sites adherence to customer standards through auditing of all areas of operations against customer codes of practise.

To confirm sites effectiveness at maintaining high levels of hygienic standards by conducting audits of sites hygiene departments / operations (including during operation and at pre-start up). This may include swab verification

Continuously improve standards – be involved with the implementation of new or revised internal, externals or customer requirements ensuring that they are included in audits conducted.

Check that environmental standards across site / group are adhered to through carrying out audits of the site areas against ISO auditing standards.

Conduct audits as required against any other operational standards that the company wish to comply to, e.g. – RSPO, MSC

Raise non-conformances against the business where non-compliance is identified during audits, allocate level of severity. Also, ensure that those responsible for the area the NC is raised against fully understand the reason for the NC and agree to a timescale to implement corrective action to address the NC.

Ensure required reports are completed on time (and sent to appropriate people as required), in full and accurately for customers and other stakeholders.

Provide training, support and guidance to the Operational teams as required to ensure standards are fully understood thereby enabling effective implementation.

Qualifications and skills

Good communication

Ability to plan and work to a schedule and deadlines

Computer skills – ability to use word/excel/Microsoft office.

Ability to read a document and make an interpretation of its contents

Ability to write a report

Good attention to details and observational skills

Auditor experience / qualification – Desirable.
