Due to increased requirements, we require an additional Accounts Assistant to work as part of the wider accounts and Finance department at our Head Office in Fleet. You will assist the Finance function in the running of the financial operations.

The role could suit a graduate in Maths, Finance or Accounting seeking the opportunity to join a reputable employer and further your career. You may be currently working within a finance or accounts role and seeking the next step or you may be part AAT qualified and seeking the chance to utilise your qualifications within an accounts role. In return we can offer a competitive salary between £23k and £27k plus a full benefits package.

The main duties of the role are as follows:-

Handling of supplier invoices on a daily basis, ensuring the validity and returning all invalid documents as and when necessary
Distribution of supplier invoices for authorisation to various departments
Processing payment runs on a regular basis, via the Accounts Payable function or via manual raise through internet banking
Monitor and review of outstanding invoices with prompt resolution of queries
Ensuring all supplier invoices are filed accurately and timely
Answering supplier phone calls and resolving queries
Reconciliation of supplier statement and creditors ledgers on a timely basis
Assist with the accounts receivable processing, raising invoices in a timely and accurately manner, reconciles, issuing debtors periodic statement ensuring timely collection of monies.
Assist in the preparation of bank reconciliations
Complying with detailed policies and procedures, and being capable of updating internal procedures when necessary with supervisor/management approval
To be successful as one of our Accounts Assistant, you should have a good understanding of accountancy and book-keeping either from work experience or your studies.

Strong IT skills, including the ability to use Microsoft Excel to an intermediate standard e.g. Pivot tables, Excel formulas and an ability to learn new systems quickly.

Ideally you will have already begun your AAT studies and gained a Level 1 or 2 qualification and be keen to study further.

You should be able to demonstrate the following attributes:-
