Accommodation Manager – Full Time –

Birmingham 2022 are looking for an experienced Accommodation Manager to support the Accommodation Lead in ensuing sufficient, suitable accommodation is available to all accommodation users for whom the Organising Committee is responsible. The Accommodation Manager is responsible for the implementation and delivery of the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games Accommodation (ACM) plan as directed by the ACM Lead. The role will act as a primary contact for the Games client groups, identifying accommodation requirements, managing their allocation, and contracting process.

Key Responsibilities

Assist in developing the ACM plan for all Games Constituents/client Groups (International Federations, Technical Officials, Broadcast, Press, Sponsors, Observers, CGAs. Dignitaries, CGF, Contractors and Organising Committee Workforce).
Act as a primary contact for the Games client groups, identifying accommodation requirements, managing their allocation, and contracting process.
Work with the ACM Reservation System (ARS) Manager to ensure the optimal implementation of the online booking process for client groups and improve the overall service delivery of the ARS.
Manage/monitor all client reservations and liaise with relevant FAs and clients in relation to their accommodation needs and reservation in the ARS.
Work in integration with the ACM Contract and Inventory Manager to align the client needs to the existing hotel operator offer and complete an accurate allocation plan by user group.
Work with the Hotel Contracting Provider to ensure the timely and appropriate contracting of all hotels required to support the Games and ensure compliance.
Review pre-games event requirements, existing timelines, and planning strategies/gap analysis. Monitor and manage contract service levels and resolve issues or escalate to ACM Lead where appropriate.
Assisting the ACM Lead in delivering the ACM Operational Plan, producing a sub project plan for the client groups.
Work in integration with the ACM Finance Manager to ensure correct invoicing and finance processing of accommodation bookings.
Assist in providing regular reports to the CGF in relation to the ACM plan and room rates and financial summaries.
Assist in delivering the Birmingham 2022 Accommodation Sustainability Strategy.
Provide accommodation service support for CGF General Assemblies, Chef de Mission seminars and CGA visits and meetings.
Represent the ACM FA at senior management forums and with client groups.
Produce and ensure effective crisis management protocols and procedures.Person Specification

An experienced manager from the accommodation industry with strong commercial, financial analysis skills.
Significant experience of working in a hospitality environment and managing a team.
High level of organisational skills and experience in managing demanding projects simultaneously.
Demonstrable strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills, the ability to influence others and manage relationships.Desirable

Experience managing a team that has run complex accommodation operations including experience in reservation systems.
Flexibility to support several different projects within the ACM FA and to adapt to the differing demands.
Recognised expertise and experience in event planning (planning at international level considered an advantage).
Specific knowledge on sports and entertainment events on an international scale.This position is subject to a Basic criminal record check from the Disclosure and Barring Service.
