Helpdesk Support Engineer with accounting software experience is required by our client, a leading reseller and IT solutions provider based near St Albans and Luton. Providing telephone support for products and other off-the-shelf applications you will offer a first class service to all clients and resolve all calls within timescales specified in Service Level Agreements.
To be considered you will have previous experience in supporting financial packages eg. Sage, Access Accounts, Pegasus, Great Plains etc with a good working knowledge of Accounting principles (maybe gained via AAT, ACCA or CIMA).
Your support experience will have ideally been gained in a helpdesk environment In addition to your accounting and software skills you will ideally have knowledge of Windows and SQL Server, including experience of backup, restores and user creation within SQL Server. The ability to write or amend SQL scripts using multiple tables and group by clauses and the ability to write simple stored procedures is an advantage.
First class communication skills with ability to liaise with people at all levels is an essential requirement for this role, as is an excellent telephone manner, to include good listening skills, clarity of speech, measured delivery of information, patience and a cheerful and friendly disposition. More senior roles also available.
