Web Project Manager

Project Manager required by our Crawley, West Sussex based financial services client with experience in the successful delivery of large scale software development and operational projects in excess of £100k-£200k. Working in a Prince2 environment you will have a familiarity with client/server and/or web services environments and have full software development lifecycle experience. You will have experience of working in a client facing role delivering projects for external clients – maybe for a software house or consultancy. Continuously developing a professional, technical and commercially aware approach to projects to will take responsibility for the motivation, management and development of staff, monitoring work flow and resolving conflicts of priority. You will be self motivated, be able to demonstrate tenacity and objectivity and have a pragmatic approach to work. This role will include a high degree of client facing work so experience in this and related areas (eg pre-sales) would be a big advantage. Other desirable experience includes outsourcing projects, TUPE related Company migrations where processes are being outsourced and work within the pensions industry (ideally a TPA). This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced project manger to join a successful and well established organisation with benefits to match. Being a financial services organisation, experience in Pensions, Banking, Insurance or similar would be a bonus but is not essential. Working on internal company projects you will have to use your skills to balance high quality, functionality, best practice with simplicity, cost and delivery speed without practically compromising reliability and maintainability.

You will head projects within a small but highly skilled development team whilst coordinating with other areas of IT to obtain maximum benefit from the company’s investment in people and technology. You will need to be highly skilled in software development using our core technologies, C# and .NET, plus have specific expertise in at least one of our strategic Microsoft products: Commerce Server, Biztalk, Sharepoint or SQL.

Successful candidates will have extensive experience using numerous Microsoft technologies (particularly .NET in a SOA architectures) on commercial projects and have demonstrable coding skills to a high standard.

Although this will primarily be C# in a Visual Studio environment, confidence within other environments such as scripting and web are also useful. Must have either testing experience or if not then have the potential to apply development skills to testing.
